الأسئلة

What chemicals can a chemical liquid filling machine fill?
Chemical liquid filling machines are designed to fill: strong acids (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid); strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonia solution); solvents and flammable liquids (acetone, IPA, ethanol, toluene, xylene — ATEX certified model required); oxidising agents (hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite); cleaning compounds (industrial detergent, bleach, descaler); agricultural chemicals (pesticide, herbicide, fertiliser solution); petrochemicals (lubricating oil, cutting fluid, coolant); and specialty chemicals (adhesive, ink, resin, epoxy component). Material selection for wetted parts (PVDF, PTFE, PP, Hastelloy) is critical and depends on the specific chemical, concentration and temperature.
What is ATEX certification and when is it required for chemical filling?
ATEX (ATmospheres EXplosibles) is the EU directive governing equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres — environments where flammable gas, vapour, mist or dust may be present. ATEX Zone 1 means explosive atmosphere is likely to occur during normal operation. ATEX Zone 2 means explosive atmosphere is not likely in normal operation but may occur occasionally. For chemical filling, ATEX certification is required when: filling flammable solvents (flash point below 60°C) — acetone, ethanol, IPA, toluene, xylene, hexane; filling highly flammable fuels; and filling any liquid whose vapour concentration in air can reach the lower explosive limit (LEL). ATEX-certified filling machines use explosion-proof motors, intrinsically safe control panels, anti-static conveyors and vapour-capture fill nozzles. Outside the EU, equivalent standards include IECEx (international), NEC (USA) and GB3836 (China).
How do I select the right wetted-part material for chemical filling?
Wetted parts are all components that contact the chemical product: cylinder, piston, seals, nozzle, valve and tubing. Material selection guide: SUS316L (standard): suitable for mild acids, alkalis and most non-halogenated solvents. Not suitable for hydrochloric acid, bleach or strong oxidisers. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride): excellent resistance to most acids, alkalis, halogens and oxidising agents. Suitable for hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, sodium hydroxide. Widely used for chemical filling. PP (polypropylene): good resistance to acids and alkalis at room temperature. Less suitable for aromatic solvents and chlorinated solvents. Economical option for dilute chemicals. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): nearly universal chemical resistance. Used for seals and nozzle liners in highly aggressive applications. Hastelloy C276: best-in-class corrosion resistance for highly oxidising mineral acids and mixed acid environments. Contact our engineers with your specific chemical, concentration and temperature for a material recommendation.
What safety features are required for chemical liquid filling machines?
Required safety features for chemical filling machines include: chemical-resistant enclosure (IP65 minimum, IP67 for washdown areas); emergency stop button (EN 13849 compliant, category 3 or 4 for high-risk applications); grounding and bonding (for flammable liquids, IEC 60079-32); vapour capture nozzle (reduces worker exposure to VOC and reduces fugitive emissions); overfill protection (level sensor in container or weight-based shut-off); spill containment (drip tray and return line); operator protection guards (per CE Machinery Directive); PPE requirements documentation (included in machine manual); and — for ATEX applications — full ATEX conformity documentation, zone classification certificate and periodic inspection schedule. HEMUfill provides complete ATEX documentation package with ATEX-certified filling machines.
What is the difference between a chemical filling machine and a standard liquid filling machine?
Standard liquid filling machine (food/cosmetic): SUS304/316L construction; standard IP55 electrical enclosure; standard piston seals (NBR or silicone); no vapour control; no explosion protection; no chemical resistance coatings. Chemical liquid filling machine: PVDF/PTFE/Hastelloy wetted parts option; IP65/IP67 sealed electrical enclosure; chemically resistant seals (PTFE, EPDM, Viton, FFKM); vapour capture nozzle option; ATEX-certified option for flammable liquids; anti-static features; dedicated drainage and containment tray; full chemical compatibility documentation. The chemical version costs 30%–100% more than the equivalent food-grade version depending on material specification and ATEX requirement.
What is the investment for a chemical liquid filling machine?
Semi-automatic PVDF chemical filler (100ml–5,000ml): $6,000–$15,000 USD. Automatic PVDF inline filler (4 heads, 20–60 fills/min): $25,000–$60,000 USD. ATEX Zone 2 automatic chemical filler (4 heads): $40,000–$90,000 USD. ATEX Zone 1 automatic chemical filler with full explosion-proof package: $70,000–$180,000 USD. Complete chemical filling line with drum/IBC filling capability: $80,000–$250,000 USD. Prices vary significantly based on chemical type, material specification, ATEX zone and fill volume range.
